In June 2023, San Carlo in Liverpool reopened after a spectacular makeover. London and Los Angeles-based interior architecture and design studio Fettle was responsible for transforming the popular Italian restaurant.
“We gutted the existing space down to the shell and completely redesigned every element,” reports Andy Goodwin, co-founder of Fettle. In the process, the designers drew inspiration from the elegance of opulent Milanese villas and gardens.
Accordingly, only particularly noble materials such as marble or mohair were used. All pieces of furniture and lighting were also designed specifically for this project. A highlight is the unique terrazzo floor, which presents itself in a mixture of green, orange and cream tones.
