The third location of the Asian restaurant group opened in the new Alexa shopping center. The strategy of GAO architects was clear: Design of an interior that gently invites passers-by and then protects from the buzz of a commercial shopping mall.
The flexible arrangement of transparent and permanent elements that remind of a bamboo forest and whose shape was arranged like a Chinese fan contributes that. If light shines through the areas, it draws shadows on the floor.
The muted lighting and the balanced design of further elements are a homage to Asian aesthetics. The design team also names the role model for their design: Kengo Kuma, a master of Japanese architecture.
The lamps at the bar are from Foscarini: Model “Spokes”.
