Bar Americano

The briefing for the design of this neighborhood bar was: Bar Americano should look like a bar that has always welcomed guests here. This was implemented perfectly, and Franklin Street in Greenpoint, which is quite sleepy by New York standards, is not a bad place for such an experiment.

Always there, now means: warm mahogany wood, an old-fashioned clock above a well-stocked bar, wallpaper in the hallway and a color palette weighted towards reds, yellows and greens – typical nuances for an American bar. The white marble counter is pleasantly rounded – another detail that encourages communication.

Nevertheless, the bar is moving with the times: cocktails are the real specialty here, and the various small dishes are not only organic, but are also served as sharing plates. So nothing for lonesome riders.

The walls have a traditional alabaster finish. But it is also worth looking upwards. Here you will find classic pewter cladding, which in this case has been painted matt white
