Others notice when people do what they do with loads of passion. In the case of the Altstadt Vienna, it is the guests. A lot of lifeblood was invested in the 45 rooms and suites of the patriarchal patrician house. A proof for that is that the rooms were designed by different creatives – whether it be the famous architects such as Matteo Thun or contemporary fashion stars like Lena Hoschek.
Recently five further architects and designers worked for the hotel to design four new rooms. Among them the director of the Vienna Design Week Lilli Hollein and her husband designer Markus Eiblmayr. The collection of contemporary art also impresses with works of Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, Leibowitz and Helnwein. The creative atmosphere paired with Viennese hospitality radiates its full power in the breakfast room: There, they will serve you two eggs in a glass surrounded by classical music, striped wallpaper and black and white photos of the Beatles.
The hotel invites guests to coffee and cake in the afternoon in the breakfast area.
