The contrast between what you expect and what you taste could hardly be greater. The waiter at Contraste serves a course called “Doughnut Bolognese”. It looks like a doughnut-shaped dessert with artfully arranged mango and vanilla dumplings. Then you bite into it and lo and behold: the supposed desert tastes like lasagne. Wow!

While your brain has to process the confusion, you can see Matias Perdomo and his kitchen team full of thieving joy in front of your inner eye. Because the star chef’s aim is to surprise people. He achieves this not only with his creations, but also with the presentation of the menu. When guests open it, they first look into a mirror. In this way, the exceptional chef shows his customers who determines the menu here: they themselves. After a brief conversation, the kitchen tailors the dishes to the individual tastes of the guests.

The restaurant was reopened in 2024 after extensive renovations. Studio Debonademeo redesigned the large main hall and divided it into four different zones inspired by the natural elements. Theatrical curtains in bright colors open and close the space as needed. Each area has its own character and offers guests a different experience.

Particular attention was paid to the dining experience during the renovation. By using sound-absorbing curtains and floors, the menu can be enjoyed in a quiet atmosphere.
