French interior designer Xavier Cartron was inspired by the diverse culture of Oman for the project. As you enter the hotel lobby through the magnificent Omani wooden doors, history comes to life as the influences of different regions and cultures merge seamlessly.

At the heart of the lobby, three fountains pay homage to the country’s rich heritage. Symbolizing the influences of the Middle East, Africa and Asia that have shaped Oman’s unique culture.

The natural beauty of the region extends to the design of the 103 rooms and 47 suites, which use local materials. Among them: Desert Rose marble and ash wood. Each of the handcrafted pieces is an invitation to guests to discover the treasures of the land.

Some of the finest examples: The bed backs are inspired by “kumas”, the traditional Omani hats. The authentic motifs and fabrics pay homage to the country’s hand-woven patterns. The brass lanterns are reminiscent of the iconic “khanjar” – Omani daggers made by hand.

In the entrance area, colorful chandeliers with crystal lanterns illuminate the lobby from all sides.
