Located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Mitte, the Locke at East Side Gallery impresses with a brilliant view of the Spree and the city skyline. It’s a great place to stay – not only because of the wonderful location, but also because of the hotel’s inner values.
The 176 elegant studio apartments are all equipped with a living area and kitchenette – many of them have access to a private balcony with a view of the river or the skyline. Almost like little Berlin apartments for guests from all over the world.
But the Locke at East Side Gallery also attracts locals. The free co-working space is open not only to out-of-town visitors, but also to Berliners. Guests also meet locals in the deli with coffee shop, Audiophile bar and Anima restaurant.
The Locke at East Side Gallery was designed by Matthew Grzywinski in clear reference to its immediate surroundings – the Berlin Wall, the Spree River and the adjacent parks. The apartments combine neutral tones and textures with raw concrete and playful color accents.
The walls between the café, bar and restaurant, the reception lounge and the co-working spaces are interrupted – a compositional concept that alludes to the remains of the Berlin Wall
